3. Hong Kong University bans ChatGPT
The Chinese University of Hong Kong has warned students against using AI tools such as ChatGPT in assignments or assessments. Students who are found to have used such tools will face penalties, including a failing grade for the course concerned, suspension, permanent demerits, a review of assessments, a lower degree classification and expulsion. Graduates who were found to have used these tools may also face revocation of their degrees. However, with permission, students can use AI tools. This is the fourth university in the city to take a formal stance on AI software. Source
